Every June 21, Wasquehal celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur musicians and local bands play for free outdoors, in the town squares and on the terraces of bars and restaurants. In the heart of the Métropole Européenne de Lille, the day is entirely free and open to all.

For the 2026 Fête de la Musique, Wasquehal is moving the celebration to Saturday, June 20th. At 7:00 PM, at Place Schumann, the band Rockmatic will perform a mix of Top 50 hits and Salut les Michels.

The Fête de la Musique in Wasquehal
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the town of Wasquehal into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces in the evening, in all genres and for all audiences, from festive covers to local bands.
A celebration in the heart of the town
Usually, Place Maurice-Schumann hosts the main stage of the festival, while the town's bars and restaurants extend the festivities with concerts on their terraces or indoors. Several places in the town thus participate in this free musical evening.
