The essential summer event at Parc de Drouille
Musiks à Manosque is the emblematic contemporary music festival of Manosque, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Created in 1986 by the association À l'Affiche, it takes over the Parc de Drouille every summer, an open-air green theatre nestled in the heart of the city. Over four to five evenings in July, the festival offers an eclectic program mixing national and international headliners in a friendly and accessible setting. Mostly free, it brings together thousands of spectators under the stars for concerts where all styles of contemporary music are represented.
Since 1986, the association À l'Affiche has organized the Musiks à Manosque festival every summer, which has become over the decades the essential musical event of the city and the entire south of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Born from the desire to offer quality concerts in an exceptional natural setting, the festival has stood the test of time while keeping its founding values intact: musical eclecticism, accessibility for all, and conviviality.
The festival takes place at the Parc de Drouille, a true green theatre located in the heart of Manosque. This tree-lined park offers an enchanting setting for open-air summer evenings, where the public enjoys music with their heads under the stars. Easily accessible on foot from the city center, the site has parking nearby and welcomes several thousand spectators each evening in a relaxed and festive atmosphere. Refreshment stands and food stalls are available on site to complete the experience.
The strength of Musiks à Manosque lies in its ability to offer a resolutely eclectic program where all styles of contemporary music find their place: pop, rock, electro, French chanson, reggae, hip-hop, world music, funk, and disco. Over its forty editions, the festival has hosted nationally and internationally renowned artists such as Jimmy Cliff, Soprano, Gims, Pascal Obispo, Soolking, Boris Brejcha, Cerrone, Christophe Willem, Danakil, Keen'V, Manu Dibango, Magic System, Caravan Palace, Tryo, and many others.
The program skillfully blends major headliners with emerging artists, offering the public the opportunity to discover new talents while enjoying major concerts. Each evening is preceded by a supporting act highlighting up-and-coming artists.
True to its popular vocation, Musiks à Manosque traditionally offers most of its evenings free of charge and open access, without reservation. Since 2024, some evenings with major headliners are offered for a fee at very accessible prices (between 15 and 31 euros), allowing the festival to continue attracting top-tier artists while preserving the spirit of freeness that defines its identity. Concerts generally start at 9:00 PM, with doors opening at 8:00 PM.
Supported by the City of Manosque, the Durance Luberon Verdon Agglomération (DLVA) community of agglomeration, and the Regional Council of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, the festival is a major cultural player in the region. It contributes to the summer dynamism of Manosque and attracts a loyal audience each year from across the region, neighboring departments, and beyond. The hashtag #MAM brings together the festival community on social media.
