Free open-air concerts in the heart of Tarbes' Jardin Massey
The Bandstand of Jardin Massey, built near the small lake in this park classified as a Remarkable Garden, is the enchanting setting for the free concerts of Tarbes' summer. Every Sunday from late June to late July, as part of 'La Culture au Jardin', the City of Tarbes offers music and dance performances accessible to all audiences, creating an unmissable event of the summer season.
Sundays at Kiosque Massey offer great musical diversity, blending classical and contemporary repertoires, regional traditions, and world rhythms:
Jardin Massey is a 14-hectare landscaped park in the heart of Tarbes, created in the 19th century by Placide Massey, a botanist and steward of the Versailles gardens. Classified as a Remarkable Garden, it houses the Musée Massey dedicated to the Hussars and Fine Arts, a medieval cloister, an orangery, and rare botanical species. The bandstand, located in a bucolic setting near the lake, offers ideal natural acoustics for open-air performances.
Musique au Kiosque Massey is part of the cultural policy of the City of Tarbes aimed at making music accessible to everyone. Admission is completely free, with no reservation required. Spectators settle on the surrounding lawns and benches to enjoy the concerts in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. In case of bad weather, performances are unfortunately canceled, as the bandstand has no protection from the rain.
The 2026 edition of Musique au Kiosque Massey returns to the Jardin Massey in Tarbes from June 28th to July 26th, 2026, with a free concert every Sunday at 3 PM at the historic bandstand. This program is part of the broader Culture au jardin (segment « Un air d'été ») initiative supported by the City of Tarbes.
From Sunday, June 28th to Sunday, July 26th, 2026, the bandstand of Jardin Massey in Tarbes hosts a free concert every Sunday afternoon at 3 PM. This summer program is organized by the Culture Department of the City of Tarbes and is part of the « Culture au jardin » event (also known as « Un air d'été »), which also offers street performances on Saturdays at 4 PM at the nearby open-air theater.
Previous editions have welcomed local and regional groups from various backgrounds: jazz (Tarbes Odos Jazz), traditional dance (Amicale des Celtes de Bigorre), Andalusian music (Paséo Andalou), choirs, brass bands, and classical ensembles. The 2026 program will be unveiled in detail on the official website of the City of Tarbes during spring.

Access is completely free and open: just bring a blanket or a folding chair and settle down on the surrounding lawn.
Concerts are cancelled in case of bad weather. For detailed programming and any last-minute changes, consult the website of the City of Tarbes or the Tourist Office.
