Classical music festival in the heritage sites of Périgord Noir since 1989
Since 1989, the Musique en Périgord Festival has filled the most beautiful heritage sites of Périgord Noir with classical music. Born in the Romanesque church of Audrix, a village between Vézère and Dordogne, the festival has grown while remaining true to its origins: offering quality concerts in intimate and authentic settings.
Concerts take place in magical locations: the church of Audrix, the abbey of Saint-Cyprien, the church of Saint-Chamassy, the International Centre for Prehistory in Les Eyzies, the banks of the Vézère in Le Bugue, the park of Château de Campagne, and the cathedral of Sarlat.
The festival pursues several objectives: to host established artists as well as promising young performers, to promote and foster a love for quality music in rural areas, and to offer accessible performances for everyone at moderate prices. The programming alternates between baroque, classical, romantic music, 20th-century music, vocal repertoire, and convivial aperitif concerts.
The Musique en Périgord Festival will return for its 38th edition in the summer of 2026, with classical music concerts in the most beautiful heritage sites of Périgord Noir. The program will be announced in spring 2026 on the festival's official website.
Concerts are held in various locations between Le Bugue, Les Eyzies, Saint-Cyprien, and Sarlat. Refer to the annual program for the specific venue of each concert.
Paid concerts at moderate prices. Free or donation-based aperitif concerts.
