Classical music festival in the churches of Île de Ré
For nearly 40 years, Musique en Ré has been the essential summer event for music lovers on the Île de Ré. The festival takes place from late July to early August and travels through all the island's villages, from Saint-Martin-de-Ré to Les Portes-en-Ré, including all the island's hamlets.
The festival offers 13 concerts divided into three categories: 6 free outdoor concerts for an accessible approach to classical music, 5 symphonic concerts in the island's churches offering exceptional acoustics, and 5 chamber music concerts for moments of musical intimacy.
Musique en Ré welcomes great musicians, soloists, and conductors of international renown every year. The concerts in the Romanesque and Gothic churches of the Île de Ré create a unique atmosphere, blending architectural heritage and musical excellence. The festival makes classical music accessible to all audiences, with particular attention paid to young audiences.
The 39th edition of the Musique en Ré festival takes place from July 27 to August 7, 2026, in all the communes of Île de Ré. The program includes: 13 concerts, including 6 free open-air concerts, symphonic and chamber music concerts in the island's churches, a narrated symphonic concert for young audiences, and an open-air opera evening in Saint-Martin-de-Ré.
