About Christmas in Saint-Dizier
Noël à Saint-Dizier is the winter event program organized by the City of Saint-Dizier in the heart of the Haute-Marne town. It replaces the traditional Christmas market with wooden chalets on Place Aristide-Briand, which the city discontinued after the 2023 edition.
The current format features a launch event with fireworks, a carousel and Santa's chalet on Place des Petites Halles, street performances, "Aristide Christmas" evenings, and a showcase of local artisans, all complemented by the city's festive holiday lights.
Our team has not been able to confirm with an official source that this 2026 edition is taking place. The dates and program shown below may be outdated. We strongly recommend that you contact the organizer directly to verify before any travel or registration.

From Christmas market to festive program
Until 2023, the city hosted a Christmas market with a village of chalets on Place Aristide-Briand. According to the Journal de la Haute-Marne (August 2024), the city informed participating merchants that the market would not return in 2024, as they explored new formats for the holiday season. Officials noted their intention to keep popular elements, such as the carousel and churro stands.
The 2025 format
The 2025 season ran from December 6, 2025, to January 3, 2026. It kicked off with fireworks at the ramparts, followed by a procession to Place Aristide-Briand and the lighting ceremony in the presence of Saint-Nicolas. The carousel on Place des Petites Halles, accompanied by Santa's chalet and food stalls (waffles, crêpes, churros, roasted chestnuts, mulled wine, and hot chocolate), remained open until January 3. Street performers entertained the city center until December 20, while two "Aristide Christmas" evenings featuring a wine bar, food, and DJ sets were held on Place Aristide-Briand on the Saturdays of December 13 and 20. Additionally, a Christmas showcase organized by the Union des Commerçants Bragards featured around ten local artisans and creators from December 12 to 24.
The city has not yet released the 2026 program; please note that there is no longer a chalet village on Place Aristide-Briand.
