Crime and Fantasy Novel Fair in Le Bugue, Dordogne
Every summer, the Noir Vézère fair transforms the town center of Le Bugue into a major hub for crime fiction. Organized by the association Lire et écrire au Bugue since 2014, this fair brings together about thirty authors of crime novels, thrillers, and noir fiction for a weekend of signings, meetings, and exchanges with readers.
A highlight of the festival, the awarding of the Prix Noir Vézère recognizes a crime novel selected by a jury of 15 readers. This prize, a mark of quality and recognition, highlights authors in the crime genre and contributes to the influence of noir literature.
The 'Crime Scene' stand, run by the National Gendarmerie, offers technical demonstrations on crime scene investigations: fingerprint lifting, evidence analysis, reconstruction. Round tables, readings, and activities complete the program for an immersive weekend in the world of crime fiction.
The 13th edition of the Noir Vézère fair will be held in summer 2026 at the Halle de la Mairie du Bugue, in Dordogne. Organized by the Lire et écrire au Bugue association, this free event dedicated to crime and fantasy novels brings together around thirty crime fiction authors for signings, meetings, and the presentation of the Noir Vézère Prize, awarded by a jury of readers. The detailed program and the list of invited authors will be communicated by the organization closer to the event.
