About Nuit de la Gavotte
Every year, the Nuit de la Gavotte brings dancers and musicians together in Poullaouen, Central Brittany, to celebrate a single dance: the gavotte. Originally founded in 1989 as the "12 Hours of the Gavotte" by a team led by Louis Lofficial, the event took its current form in 1994, when a new generation streamlined it into a single night of fest-noz before expanding it into a full weekend. The DAÑS TRO association hosts the event on the third weekend of September, featuring traditional instrument workshops, lectures, and a musical hike centered around the Saturday night fest-noz.
Nuit de la Gavotte — edition 2026
The 36th Nozvezh ar Gavotenn takes place on September 18th and 19th, 2026, in Poullaouen, centered around the theme "Pegoulz, pelec'h ha pegement?" (When, where, and how much?). The weekend kicks off on Friday evening with a film screening at the Amzer Zo hall, followed by kan-ha-diskan workshops on Saturday.

The weekend takes place at the Poullaouen leisure and multi-purpose hall on Rue du Ty Meur. The Saturday workshops (biniou, bombarde, accordion, singing) and the Friday film screening are held at the Amzer Zo hall.
