A festival with character in a rural setting
Oh La Villaines is a contemporary music festival held every end of August in Villaines-les-Rochers, a village emblematic of the Indre valley, famous throughout France for its age-old basketry tradition. Created around 2016 by the eponymous association, this independent festival cultivates a resourceful and artisanal spirit that sets it apart in the Touraine festival scene.
A 100% homemade festival
Oh La Villaines proudly claims its status as a 100% homemade festival. From the entirely artisanal catering to the decorations created throughout the year by volunteers, including the meticulously selected programming, every aspect of the festival is conceived and executed by the volunteer team. This approach gives the event a rare authenticity and an intimate atmosphere that festival-goers particularly appreciate.
An eclectic and local program
The festival features artists covering a wide range of musical styles: rap, electro, reggae, rock, grunge, French chanson, and world music. The focus is on regional artists and the emerging scene, with musical discoveries at each edition. The concerts take place over two evenings, in a carefully decorated rural setting, where the public can dance and enjoy the music in a relaxed atmosphere.
A collective adventure
Oh La Villaines is above all a collective adventure, driven by music and conviviality enthusiasts. The Oh La Villaines association brings together volunteers who work all year round to prepare the festival, building sets, organizing logistics, and selecting artists. This volunteer commitment creates a sense of community that is felt as soon as you arrive at the festival site.
A unique setting
The festival unfolds in a singular rural setting, in the heart of Villaines-les-Rochers. The decor, always striking and well-maintained, transforms the site into a dreamlike space where music takes on its full dimension. A free communal campsite, provided by the town hall, allows festival-goers to extend the experience and enjoy the mild Touraine summer nights. The catering, entirely artisanal, offers homemade dishes made with local products.
