Peasant blues and gastronomy in Chédigny
The Festival De Bouche et de Blues is a singular event that celebrates two passions: blues music and peasant gastronomy from Touraine. Every year in July, the village of Chédigny, classified as a Remarkable Garden and the only village in France to bear this label, hosts this festival that mixes pleasures for the ears and the taste buds.
The gastronomic part of the festival offers an original tasting formula, in the style of a giant gourmet coffee. Around forty culinary offerings allow everyone to compose their meal according to their desires. On the menu, the great classics of the peasant tradition of Touraine:
The musical part perpetuates a 18-year tradition of blues in Chédigny. The festival programs concerts with iconic artists of the genre, notably Shanna Waterstown and Philippe Ménard, two recognized figures on the French blues scene.
The festival's formula remains true to the village and focuses on two words: heritage and culture. The event is part of the very identity of Chédigny, a listed village that has preserved its authenticity while developing a quality cultural and tourist offering.
Chédigny is the only village in France classified as a Remarkable Garden. Its streets, adorned with roses and perennials, offer an enchanting setting to enjoy open-air blues concerts. The festival takes place in the evening, starting at 6 p.m., without reservation, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
The Festival De Bouche et de Blues is expected to return at the end of July 2026 in Chédigny for a new edition combining blues concerts and tastings of peasant gastronomy from Touraine.
