About Opera for Everyone!
A community-driven opera-theatre production featuring iconic operatic arias, hosted in a historic religious venue that embraces the arts. This original staging brings together established international artists, promising young soloists, and passionate amateur choristers. The event beautifully bridges the preservation of religious heritage with the promotion of musical art accessible to everyone.
Opéra pour tous ! is a participatory lyrical production organized by the Amicale Saint Julien de Mosset, in partnership with the Mosset Amic Sempre association, as part of the “Mosset les Moments Musicaux” programme. The show features international opera singers, young soloists, and amateur choristers performing the greatest operatic arias, with stage direction by Albert Heijdens in collaboration with Magali Bourgarel and Angeline Pondepeyre.
Founded on January 9th, 1989, and active since 1983, the Amicale Saint Julien is dedicated to preserving the heritage of the église Saint-Julien-et-Sainte-Baselisse in Mosset, a village in the Conflent area of the Pyrénées-Orientales. Since 2023, the association has been developing a “Heritage and Culture” concept, bringing the sound of a concert piano to the church's vaulted interior while supporting restoration efforts for the building, its bell tower, and its ancient pine tree.
The programme includes excerpts from Carmen (Bizet), La Belle Hélène (Offenbach), Dido and Aeneas (Purcell), Roméo et Juliette (Gounod), Nabucco and Otello (Verdi), and The Magic Flute (Mozart).
