The biggest festival in Hautes-Alpes mixing extreme sports and concerts by the lake of Serre-Ponçon in Embrun
Born in 2013 from the passion of Alexandre Besseau, former professional kayaker and world vice-champion in freestyle kayaking, Outdoormix Festival has become in a few years the biggest festive event in the Hautes-Alpes. Organized by the association We Are Hautes-Alpes, it takes place every spring on the grassy beach of the Embrun water sports center, at the foot of the Alpine peaks and on the shores of Lake Serre-Ponçon. This exceptional natural setting, between lake and mountain, offers an ideal playground for outdoor sports on land, water, and in the air.
For four days, the festival hosts over 600 athletes from 23 nations to compete in about fifteen disciplines. Competitions in wingfoil, kite freestyle, BMX dirt, VTT pumptrack, stand up paddle river, bouldering, slackline, trickline, longboard, and paragliding take place on various spots around the water. Spectacular demonstrations and free initiations allow all audiences, including children and people with disabilities thanks to the handisport component, to discover these disciplines. The event village brings together over 70 brands from the outdoor industry on a wooden promenade along the beach.
Each evening, the main outdoor stage takes over with an eclectic musical program mixing electro, reggae, world music, hip-hop, and contemporary music. Over the years, the festival has hosted renowned artists such as MC Solaar, Dub Inc, Goran Bregovic, Caravan Palace, Yaniss Odua, LEJ, Raggasonic, Hilight Tribe, Synapson, Fatoumata Diawara, and Matmatah. Three evenings of concerts punctuate the event, from 9 PM to 3 AM, in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
Access to the event village, sports competitions, and initiations is completely free during the day. Only the evening concerts are ticketed, with affordable prices (around 28 euros per evening or 75 euros for a 3-night pass in presale). This model allows Outdoormix Festival to bring together over 25,000 visitors each year, from families to extreme sports enthusiasts, in a spirit of sharing and discovery unique to the Hautes-Alpes.
The 12th edition of Outdoormix Festival will take place from May 22 to 25, 2026 at the Embrun water sports center. The festival promises an even richer program, with more sports, more artists, and an expanded event village.
On the concert side, the lineup promises to be exceptional with nine confirmed artists. On Friday, Fatoumata Diawara (world music / electro) will open the festivities, followed by Synapson (electro) and Étienne de Crécy (electro). On Saturday, Tairo (reggae) will be followed by La P'tite Fumée (tribal music) and Acid Arab (oriental electro). On Sunday, Luiza (French indie), Matmatah (rock), and Gonzi (electro) will close this edition.
The sports component will feature competitions in BMX, bouldering, handisport, kite freestyle, longboard, MTB dirt, paragliding, pumptrack, slackline, stand up paddle, and wingfoil, with international athletes and free initiations for everyone.
The festival takes place at the Embrun water sports center, avenue du Lac, 05200 Embrun, on the north shore of Lake Serre-Ponçon.
