Music within the stones of the Creuse Valley
Parenthèse Musique is a summer festival that takes over the churches and heritage sites of the Creuse Valley to offer quality concerts in exceptional settings. Founded in 2016, it is supported by the Communauté de Communes Éguzon Argenton Vallée de la Creuse and the association OC and OIL, with the ambition of allowing residents and summer visitors to attend free concerts in the valley's unique locations.
An eclectic and demanding program
The Parenthèse Musique program offers a journey through constantly renewed musical aesthetics. From jazz to classical music, from French chanson to world music, each evening is a discovery. The 2025 edition notably featured Moussa Koita (Malian jazz), Zied Zouari (oriental jazz), the Hormë Quartet (jazz), and Louise Perret & Sébastien Giniaux (chanson/jazz).
Exceptional heritage sites
Concerts take place at 9 PM in the village churches of the Creuse Valley: Éguzon, Pommiers, Bazaiges, Chavin, Le Menoux, and other towns in the south of Indre. The traditional closing concert is held at the foot of the Éguzon dam, offering a spectacular and unusual setting. In 2025, the festival added an inaugural Sunday with an off-site concert allowing for a combination of touring and discovery of the territory's emblematic sites.
Free and friendly
All Parenthèse Musique concerts are free and open to everyone. After each concert, the host towns offer a friendly reception allowing for exchanges with the artists in a relaxed atmosphere. This free access is made possible by the support of the community of communes and local authorities, with a commitment to access to culture for all.
A growing festival
Since its creation in 2016, Parenthèse Musique has continuously grown. In 2025, for its 9th edition, the festival offered 10 musical evenings over 8 days, adding an extra day to its usual format. In 2026, the festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary with exceptional musical evenings in an even more enhanced spirit of conviviality.
