An evening in white under the illuminations of the English garden

For its 2026 edition, the Pique-nique en Blanc at Château de Chantilly takes place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 7 PM to 0:30 AM, in the domain's illuminated English garden. Due to the usual enthusiasm, the château is opening an additional date on Friday, June 12, 2026 at the same times, accessible via the same ticketing platform. The postponement date in case of bad weather is set for Saturday, July 18, 2026.

Strictly enforced white dress code

Access is conditional on adhering to an entirely white dress code: no patterns, no stripes, no cream shades are tolerated. Checks are strict at the entrance and no refunds will be given in case of refusal. Shoes, accessories, and even the picnic blanket must follow the same rule.

Ticketing 2026 — event sold out

Ticketing is managed by Seetickets on the official Château de Chantilly page. The first 2,500 tickets were sold for €20 in presale, with the standard price then increasing to €25. As of the verification date, the event is showing as SOLD OUT on the online ticketing platform, with no on-site sales on the day. Children under 7 years old get free admission upon presentation of a mandatory free ticket to be reserved online.

What you need to bring

Each guest brings their own picnic basket, white tablecloth, cutlery (wood or bamboo only, no metal), glasses, and white crockery. Open-flame candles are prohibited; only LED candles are allowed. Tables, chairs, and strong alcoholic beverages of category 4 (vodka, tequila, whiskey, gin, rum) are strictly forbidden. Animals are not allowed, with the exception of guide dogs.

Access and transport

By car: Chantilly is accessible via the A1 motorway (exit Senlis, then D1016 towards Chantilly) from Paris (approx. 45 min). The Château de Chantilly parking is paid. Access to the Pique-nique en Blanc is via the English garden entrance. Due to the crowds, it is recommended to arrive early. Additional parking may be indicated on the day of the event.

By train: Chantilly-Gouvieux station is served by TER Hauts-de-France and Transilien from Paris-Nord (approx. 25 minutes, frequent trains). The château is a 15-minute walk from the station, via a pleasant stroll. For the return journey late in the evening, check the times of the last trains (the festival ends at 0:30 AM).

Carpooling: Carpooling is encouraged by the organizers. Carpooling platforms may offer dedicated trips for the event.

Location: English garden of the Château de Chantilly, 60500 Chantilly. The English garden, with its winding paths and romantic groves, is illuminated for the occasion and offers a magical setting for this unique evening.

Hours

Gates open at 7:00 PM. Last entry at 9:30 PM. Event ends at 0:30 AM. It is advisable to arrive early to settle in and enjoy the sunset over the estate.

Mandatory dress code

The entirely white outfit is mandatory for all participants. No patterns, no stripes, no other colors are allowed. Access will be denied to anyone not respecting this dress code, without refund. White shoes recommended (bring comfortable shoes for walking on grass). Accessories (bags, hats) should also preferably be white.

What to bring

Your picnic basket (refined dishes or country picnic according to your tastes), your white tablecloth to set up your space on the lawn, cutlery and tableware (preferably white), candles (caution: no open flames, LED recommended), blanket or plaid for comfortable seating.

Food trucks and drinks

If you do not wish to bring your meal, food trucks and drink stands are available on-site. A bar offers cocktails and festive drinks. Bar service throughout the evening.

Weather postponement

In case of unfavorable weather conditions or force majeure, the event may be postponed to a later date (the postponement date will be announced on the château's website and social media). No refunds possible in case of postponement.
