Plume d'Hiver: Meuse literature in the spotlight in Stenay

Plume d'Hiver is the winter book fair of Stenay, created by the PLUME association to promote Meuse literature in the north of the department. This literary event, organized in winter at the premises of the Communauté de communes Stenay-Val Dunois, brings together about twenty authors and illustrators from the department for a day of privileged encounters with the public.

The PLUME association

The association PLUME (Passion Littéraire de l'Union Meusienne des Écrivains et Illustrateurs) is an association of authors and illustrators from the Meuse department. Its mission is to:

  • Promote local literature: make Meuse writers and illustrators known to the general public
  • Organize book fairs: Plume d'Hiver in Stenay and Plume d'Automne in other towns in the Meuse region
  • Create connections: foster exchanges between authors and readers in a spirit of sharing and discovery

A rich literary program

Plume d'Hiver offers a varied program throughout the day:

  • Author stands and signings: about twenty members of the PLUME association exhibit and sign their works, covering many genres: novels, short stories, poetry, children's literature, comic strips, historical and regionalist works
  • Meetings and exchanges: privileged moments to discuss with authors about their work, their inspiration, and their writing journey
  • Activities: readings aloud, writing workshops, and activities for young audiences punctuate the day
  • Discovery of the literary terroir: a unique opportunity to discover the richness and diversity of Meuse literary production

Stenay, host city

Stenay, a small town in northern Meuse bordered by the river of the same name, is known for its European Beer Museum and its architectural heritage. The organization of Plume d'Hiver in this commune contributes to the cultural animation of northern Meuse and offers a literary event awaited by the inhabitants of the Val Dunois and beyond.

Strong local partnerships

Plume d'Hiver is the result of a collaboration between the PLUME association, the Stenay Cultural Center, Étoffe Meuse, and the Stenay library. These partnerships make it possible to offer a quality event, rooted in the local cultural fabric.
