The Printemps des Arts de Senlis: A Showcase for Artistic Creation

For over twenty years, the association Art & Amitié Senlis has organized the Printemps des Arts, an art fair that has become one of the major cultural events in the medieval city. Every May, the Espace Saint-Pierre—a former church converted into an exhibition space—hosts this event celebrating the diversity of contemporary artistic creation.

Over 85 Exhibiting Artists

The Printemps des Arts brings together over 85 artists working in various disciplines:

  • Painting: oil, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media
  • Sculpture: bronze, terracotta, stone, wood, metal
  • Ceramics: raku, stoneware, porcelain
  • Drawing and printmaking: ink, charcoal, pastel, lithography
  • Photography: landscapes, portraits, digital art
  • Textile arts: tapestry, art embroidery, lace

Guest Artists of Honor

Each edition honors renowned guest artists. In 2025, the fair welcomes painter Jean-François Gaulthier, an artist working between Nice and Pont-Aven, and ceramic sculptor Laurent Yvelin, a raku specialist and winner of the 2024 François Pompon Prize. These artists will give talks and demonstrations of their techniques.

A Rich Program of Activities

Beyond the exhibition, the Printemps des Arts offers numerous activities:

  • Conferences on artistic techniques (raku ceramics, painting, etc.)
  • Artistic demonstrations: pastel, charcoal, ink, bobbin lace
  • Outdoor drawing workshops at Senlis's heritage sites
  • Concerts: Celtic music, jazz, and other styles related to the exhibition
  • Sale of art books by the Friends of the Senlis Library

Espace Saint-Pierre, An Artistic Gem

The Espace Saint-Pierre, a former 12th-century church located in the heart of Senlis's historic center, provides a remarkable architectural setting for the fair. Its stone vaults, natural light, and historically rich atmosphere enhance the exhibited works, creating a unique dialogue between ancient heritage and contemporary creation.

25 Years of Artistic Passion

In 2026, the Printemps des Arts celebrates its 25th anniversary. This milestone reflects the vitality of the Art & Amitié Senlis association and the dedication of artists and the public to this fair, which year after year contributes to the artistic renown of Senlis and the Oise region.

Printemps des Arts — edition 2026
