Quai l'Été 2026
Quai l'Été returns for a new summer edition at Quai CDN Angers Pays de la Loire. From July to October 2026, the theatre offers 103 performances within its walls and in 12 communes of the department: theatre shows, contemporary dance, concerts, and performances, in a summer and friendly atmosphere (the detailed program highlights the months of July and August).
The logistics courtyard is once again transformed into a lively space with a bar, terrace, and outdoor stage, in addition to the two usual halls. The shows spread throughout the communes of Maine-et-Loire, carried by local artists. The 2026 program notably involves the Centre national de danse contemporaine (CNDC) and its new director Noé Soulier for choreographic proposals, as well as a hundred readers from Maine-et-Loire mobilized around the DESC (Département des Écritures pour la Scène Contemporaine) for the reading of unpublished texts.

Quai l'Été: A Theatrical and Festive Festival in the Heart of Angers' Summer
Born in 2020 under the impetus of Thomas Jolly, then director of Quai CDN, Quai l'Été is a unique summer highlight event in Angers. While theatres traditionally close their doors during the summer, Le Quai took the opposite approach by opening its halls and spaces wide to offer shows, concerts, and performances during the summer season.
A Quai Transformed for Summer
For the occasion, the Quai's logistics courtyard transforms into a summer living space: a bar with a terrace and an outdoor stage complement the theatre's two usual halls. This original configuration creates a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, conducive to artistic discoveries and encounters between artists and the public.
Shows Throughout the Department
Quai l'Été is not limited to the theatre's walls. Shows spread across the communes of Maine-et-Loire, with performances in a dozen venues throughout the department. From July to October, more than 100 performances are offered, presented by artists predominantly from the region.
Theatre, Dance, Readings, and Creations
The program blends theatrical creations, revivals of shows, choreographic proposals from the Centre national de danse contemporaine (CNDC), readings of unpublished texts within the framework of the DESC (Département des Écritures pour la Scène Contemporaine), and performances. The first edition notably featured «La nuit de Madame Lucienne» by Copi, directed by Thomas Jolly, performed 27 times with reduced capacity. Quai l'Été embodies a vision of open and accessible public theatre, serving creation and the region.
