The meeting place for living wines in Cévennes

Quilles is the festival of living wines in Cévennes d'Ardèche. Every year in June, this event brings together about thirty winemakers — local and international — at Camping La Surre in Chambonas, in the south of Ardèche, for a weekend of tastings, gastronomy, and festivities around natural wine.

Local and international winemakers

The strength of Quilles lies in the encounter between winemakers from Ardèche and Cévennes and winemakers from elsewhere. Each edition hosts about fifteen local producers who welcome about fifteen guest winemakers, creating a dialogue between terroirs and know-how. In 2025, 32 winemakers and 2 distilleries participated in the festival, offering a rich and varied panorama of French and international natural wines.

Gastronomy and pop-up dining

Quilles is not limited to wine tasting. The festival offers a pop-up restaurant highlighting local gastronomy, with collaborations between chefs and local producers. In 2025, Maison Bleue and Ferme Pomeyrol managed the Saturday evening restaurant, while La Récré took over for Sunday lunch. Food trucks and artisan stalls — ceramic amphorae, posters, massages — complete the festive offerings.

Music and conviviality

Each edition of Quilles is punctuated by a concert on Saturday evening, which extends the festival's party and conviviality. In 2024, the band Rhino performed the concert. Live music, combined with tastings and gastronomy, creates a warm and relaxed atmosphere that is the charm of the festival.

Camping La Surre, an idyllic natural setting

The festival is held at Camping La Surre, located on Route de Payzac in Chambonas, near Les Vans and Gravières. This natural setting, between the river and the Cévennes hills, offers an idyllic environment for tasting living wines, amidst the shade of plane trees and the gentle climate of the southern Ardèche. The location also allows visitors to combine the festival with exploring the Chassezac gorges and the Cévennes landscapes.
