The trail festival in Chartreuse for all levels
The Raidlight Trail Festival is one of the major events for trail running in Isère and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Every May, the village of Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse hosts nearly 5,000 runners from all over France and Europe for a weekend of mountain races in the exceptional setting of the Chartreuse Regional Natural Park.
The festival offers a varied range of races allowing everyone to find their challenge, from beginners to experienced trail runners:
The Raidlight Trail Festival courses wind through the fir and spruce forests, the alpine pastures, and the limestone ridges of the Chartreuse massif. Runners navigate a preserved environment, between summits exceeding 2,000 meters and green valleys, offering breathtaking panoramas of the Alps, Mont Blanc, and the Belledonne range.
Beyond the competition, the Raidlight Trail Festival stands out for its friendly and festive atmosphere. The start-finish village offers entertainment, a catering area, and an exhibitor zone. Children's races are organized on Saturday afternoons, allowing the youngest to try trail running in a safe environment. The Festi'Rando offers a non-competitive alternative for discovering the trails on foot.
The festival is organized by Trail Nature Organisation and bears the name of Raidlight, an iconic trail brand founded by Benoît Laval in Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse. The event benefits from the support of the Chartreuse Regional Natural Park, the municipality, and local tourism and mountain sports stakeholders, contributing to Chartreuse's reputation as a leading trail destination.
The 14th edition of the Raidlight Trail Festival will take place from May 15 to 17, 2026, in Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse, in the heart of the Chartreuse Regional Natural Park.
The weekend program will revolve around seven races for all levels:
