Open-air extreme rock and metal festival in Saint-Nolff
The Re-Animator Festival is an open-air extreme rock and metal festival held annually in May in Saint-Nolff, Morbihan. Created in 2024 by the association Motocultor Fest Prod, behind the famous Motocultor Festival, Re-Animator takes over the Vieux-Moulin site, near the historic Kerboulard site. For three days, about thirty bands perform on two stages, offering a sharp program mixing metal, punk, hardcore, and alternative rock, in a friendly atmosphere and a Breton rural setting.
The Re-Animator Festival was born in 2024 from the desire of the association Motocultor Fest Prod to maintain a metal and rock event in Morbihan, after the Motocultor Festival moved to Carhaix-Plouguer in 2023. The organizing team, very attached to the Morbihan region where Motocultor grew for over a decade, chose to establish this new festival on the Vieux-Moulin site in Saint-Nolff, a stone's throw from the mythical Kerboulard site.
Each edition of the Re-Animator Festival features a lineup of over 30 bands spread across two stages (Cuir Moustache and Macumba Stage) for three days. The program covers a wide spectrum of extreme and alternative music: metal, thrash, death metal, black metal, punk, hardcore, alternative rock, and experimental music. The festival showcases both internationally renowned bands and emerging French and European acts.
The Vieux-Moulin site in Saint-Nolff offers a rural and green setting typical of the Morbihan countryside. Festival-goers can enjoy free camping on-site, shaded areas, and an intimate atmosphere reminiscent of the early editions of Motocultor. The site is easily accessible from Vannes (15 minutes) and Lorient (45 minutes).
True to the spirit of Motocultor, the Re-Animator Festival cultivates a family and community atmosphere. The team of passionate volunteers ensures a warm welcome, with various food stalls, bars offering local craft beers, and entertainment throughout the day. The festival is free for children under 12 and offers a reduced rate for those under 18.
By settling in Saint-Nolff, the Re-Animator Festival continues the strong link between extreme music and Morbihan, woven since 2010 by Motocultor. The event contributes to the cultural and economic dynamism of the region, attracting festival-goers from all over France and Europe to this rural commune in southern Brittany.
