Rock festival on the banks of the Lot in Cajarc
Rock N' Lot is a rock festival created in 2021 by four musician friends in Cajarc, in the Lot region. Resolutely rock, this summer event highlights local, regional, national, and international artists on the open-air stage of the Théâtre de Verdure, on the banks of the Lot river. Managed since 2022 by the association Africajarc, the festival also offers free conferences on the history of rock, daytime concerts, activities, and themed stands in the Place du Foirail. Accessible and friendly, Rock N' Lot brings together over 600 festival-goers in a family atmosphere.
Rock N' Lot was born in 2021 from the initiative of four musician friends passionate about rock, eager to create a musical event in the heart of the Lot valley. Located in Cajarc, a charming village in Quercy in the Lot department, the festival takes over the Théâtre de Verdure every summer, an open-air stage nestled on the banks of the Lot river, offering an exceptional natural setting for memorable rock evenings.
True to its name, Rock N' Lot is a festival resolutely focused on rock in all its forms. From local bands to national and international artists, the lineup blends alternative rock, indie rock, covers of rock legends, and musical discoveries. The festival stands out for its commitment to showcasing young artists and emerging bands alongside more established acts.
Among the artists who have graced the Rock N' Lot stage are The Dizzy Brains, an internationally recognized Malagasy garage rock band, Atomik Blood (AC/DC tribute), Riding Cats, Ditties, and many regional bands from the Occitan rock scene.
Rock N' Lot is not limited to evening concerts. The festival offers a full daytime program, accessible for free at the Place du Foirail in Cajarc:
After the first edition in 2021, the Africajarc association, known for organizing Cajarc's famous festival of African cultures, took over the coordination of Rock N' Lot from 2022. This collaboration brings the festival its logistical expertise, its musical influences from around the world, particularly from the African continent. African rock, considered one of the foundational roots of current rock music, thus holds a special place in the programming, creating a unique musical dialogue between the European and African rock scenes.
Cajarc's Théâtre de Verdure, located on the banks of the Lot river, offers an ideal natural setting for an open-air rock festival. With a modest entrance fee of 10 euros for the evening shows, Rock N' Lot remains an accessible festival, true to the spirit of sharing and musical discovery that has driven its founders since the first edition.
The festival takes place at the Théâtre de Verdure, Bord du Lot, 46160 Cajarc. Daytime activities are held at the Place du Foirail in the center of Cajarc.
