Independent and alternative rock festival in Ville-sous-Anjou
Born in 2017 from the passion of a group of volunteers from the Roussillonnais region, the Rock'ssillon Festival is an annual outdoor independent and alternative rock event. Every summer, during the first weekend of August, the Ville-sous-Anjou Dog Club transforms into a rock stage welcoming local and regional bands in a friendly and unpretentious atmosphere. With an ultra-accessible price of 5 euros, on-site camping, and an artisan market, the festival cultivates proximity between artists and the public.
Created in 2017 by a handful of music enthusiasts from the Roussillonnais region, the Rock'ssillon Festival has established itself in a few editions as a must-attend event for the independent rock scene in Nord-Isère. The Rock'ssillon association, declared on October 3, 2017, and based at 2 place de l'Édit in Roussillon, carries an ambitious cultural project: to keep rock and alternative music alive in the territory of the 37 surrounding municipalities, throughout the year.
The association's flagship event remains its summer festival, organized annually during the first half of August. Since its second edition, the festival has been held at the Ville-sous-Anjou Dog Club, an atypical site offering a large stage and a shaded, enclosed park, ideal for welcoming families and festival-goers in a green and secure setting. The spirit is resolutely friendly: here, there are no barriers between artists and the public; proximity is part of the festival's DNA.
The Rock'ssillon Festival's lineup confirms its strong musical identity: independent rock, alternative rock, punk, metal, grunge, garage rock, French rock, and more electrifying propositions share the stage. Bands are selected from several hundred applications, with particular attention paid to local and regional bands from the Lyon and Rhône-Alpes region. Each edition features between seven and nine bands spread over two evenings, mixing covers and original compositions.
Beyond the concerts, the Rock'ssillon Festival offers an artisan market on Saturday during the day, inflatable structures for children, a cotton candy and popcorn stand, as well as a complete catering area with snacks, grills, fries, crepes, and ice cream. Three bars serve drinks, craft beers, wines, and soft drinks, with credit card payment accepted. Free camping is available on-site for tents and campervans.
The Rock'ssillon association operates thanks to about forty active members and numerous volunteers. Throughout the year, it organizes four major concert events in the surrounding towns, as well as festive and solidarity events: caillette mornings, boudin-diot mornings, Christmas markets at the Roussillon castle, and flea markets in partnership with the Dog Club. This participatory and locally rooted model makes Rock'ssillon an essential cultural player in the Roussillonnais region.
The 10th edition of the Rock'ssillon Festival will be held on August 7 and 8, 2026, at the Ville-sous-Anjou Dog Club. To celebrate this anniversary edition, the festival promises two evenings of concerts with seven bands selected from over 300 applications. True to its independent and friendly rock spirit, the festival will also feature an artisan market, activities for children, and a camping area. Entry at 5 euros.

To mark this tenth year of existence, the Rock'ssillon association is preparing a special edition. Seven bands have been selected from over 300 applications received, ensuring a demanding and eclectic lineup. The festival remains true to its artistic direction: bands that navigate between independent rock, alternative scene, punk, metal, and more electrifying propositions.
The entry price remains unchanged at 5 euros per evening, with the wristband system allowing free access to Saturday for Friday festival-goers. Free camping is still available on-site, and the food area will offer snacks, grilled items, crepes, ice cream, and three bars.
On Saturday during the day, the festival will once again host an artisan market with local creators as well as inflatable structures and activities for children, making Rock'ssillon a truly family-friendly event. The full lineup and list of artists will be unveiled in spring 2026 on the festival's official website and social media.
