The family-friendly and convivial rock festival of the Forez plain
The Rock'n Patate Festival is a family music event organized every year in early April in Veauchette, in the Forez plain, between Saint-Étienne and Feurs. Created in 2011 by the FASILA association, this festival showcases artists who sing in French. Sponsored by Michael Jones, it offers a free afternoon with an open stage, a musical flea market, and a Mr and Mrs Potato Head contest for children, followed by rock concerts in the evening. A friendly and accessible event for everyone in the Loire region.
Since 2011, the Rock'n Patate Festival has transformed the Veauchette village hall into a place of celebration and musical sharing every spring. Born from the passion of the members of the FASILA association (a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting musical practice and leisure dance), this festival has established itself as a must-attend event on the Loire rock scene.
The festival is sponsored by Michael Jones, an iconic guitarist and singer, a loyal supporter of the event since its beginnings. His regular presence on the Veauchette stage testifies to the artist's attachment to this human-sized festival, where proximity to the audience is an essential value. For the 10th edition in 2022, Michael Jones was accompanied by his full band for a memorable concert.
The Rock'n Patate Festival unfolds over an entire day, with a program designed for all generations:
Located in Veauchette, a small village in the Forez plain between Saint-Étienne and Feurs, the festival benefits from a rural and welcoming setting. The village hall, renovated in 2009, offers a friendly space perfectly suited to the event's spirit. The FASILA association, founded in 2001 with about fifty members, also enlivens local musical life through instrument and dance classes, as well as two orchestras, including the group Urban Folky, a Celtic music band regularly featured at the festival.
The food truck Chaud Patate (a nod to the festival's name) delights festival-goers, while the refreshment stand offers organic Loire beer. A raffle with an exceptional prize (an electric guitar), photo exhibitions, and guitar test benches complete the program of this day dedicated to rock and good humor.
