The largest Christmas market in the Tours metropolitan area

Every year in December, the Domaine de Cangé in Saint-Avertin hosts one of the largest Christmas markets in Indre-et-Loire. With its 150 exhibitors, this event organized by the Saint-Avertin Festival Committee in partnership with the City has become an unmissable event for end-of-year festivities in the Tours metropolitan area, attracting thousands of visitors over a weekend.

A gastronomic and craft market

The alleys of the Domaine de Cangé host a hundred and fifty exhibitors offering a wide variety of products. Designers and artisans present jewelry, ceramics, textiles, decorative objects, and original gifts. The gastronomic aspect highlights specialties from Touraine and elsewhere: foie gras, cheeses, artisanal chocolates, jams, honeys, oysters, crepes, hot chestnuts, and mulled wine. Visitors can also taste Malagasy specialties with the "Arbre du Voyage" and other exotic stands.

Activities for the whole family

The Saint-Avertin Christmas Market is above all a family-friendly and convivial event. Children enjoy numerous activities: rides, meeting mascots, face painting, and of course, the long-awaited visit from Santa Claus. Adults appreciate the festive atmosphere, the light decorations, and the conviviality of the place.

Musical performances and fireworks

The artistic program sets the rhythm for the weekend. On Saturday, the choirs from the Municipal School of Music and Chant'avertin perform Christmas carols. The highlight of the evening is the Christmas musical show followed by fireworks, a magical moment to end the first day. On Sunday, the Gardenschool Association Choir performs in the afternoon to prolong the musical magic.

The Domaine de Cangé, a green setting

The Domaine de Cangé is a magnificent 14-hectare wooded park located on the banks of the Cher, a few minutes from the center of Tours. Its 19th-century castle, shaded alleys, and vast lawns offer an ideal setting for the Christmas market, allowing for a pleasant stroll among the stalls in a preserved and peaceful environment.
