About Salon des Vins de Toul

The Salon des Vins de Toul is a major wine event organized every year in April by the Comité des Fêtes de Toul at the Salle de l'Arsenal. Created in 1984, this fair brings together about sixty French and international exhibitors for wine tasting and sales, with a special focus on wines from the AOC Côtes de Toul: the famous Gris de Toul, Auxerrois, and Pinot Noir. For three days, the Salle de l'Arsenal is transformed into a gigantic wine cellar where winemakers, producers, and enthusiasts mingle.

The Arsenal of Toul, a temple of wine

Since 1984, the Salle de l'Arsenal in Toul has been transformed each spring into a gigantic wine cellar for the Salon des Vins de Toul. Organized by the Comité des Fêtes de Toul, this leading wine event in the Grand Est region brings together winemakers, producers, and enthusiasts for three days of tastings, meetings, and oenological discoveries.

Wines from the AOC Côtes de Toul in the spotlight

The fair gives pride of place to wines from the AOC Côtes de Toul, an appellation of controlled origin that is the pride of the Lorraine vineyard:

  • Le Gris de Toul: the emblematic rosé wine of the appellation, mainly from Gamay, with a unique salmon-grey color and a fruity, delicate taste.
  • L'Auxerrois: a dry and fruity white wine, a characteristic grape variety of Lorraine.
  • Le Pinot Noir: an elegant red wine grown on the slopes of Toulois.

About sixty exhibitors

The fair hosts about sixty exhibitors from all over France and abroad. Alongside the winemakers from Toulois, you will find producers from Burgundy, Alsace, Bordeaux, the Rhône Valley, and elsewhere. International wines, particularly from Moldova, Georgia, Hungary, and Germany, enrich the range of discoveries.

Three days of tastings

The fair takes place over three days, from Friday to Sunday:

  • Friday afternoon: opening of the fair, ideal for a relaxed visit.
  • Saturday: the busiest day, with oenological activities.
  • Sunday: the last day, often an opportunity for good deals.

Activities and entertainment

In addition to tastings, the fair offers:

  • Meetings with winemakers: passionate discussions about terroirs and winemaking techniques.
  • Guided tastings: tasting workshops led by sommeliers.
  • Raffle: draw with wine bottle prizes.
  • Local products: stands from local producers offering cheeses, cured meats, and other specialties.

An event rooted in the territory

The Salon des Vins de Toul contributes to the influence of the Lorraine vineyard and the promotion of the AOC Côtes de Toul, one of the smallest appellations in France. It participates in the tourist dynamism of the Toulois region and attracts thousands of visitors each year.
