Live arts festival in the heart of the Causse
Created in 2021 by the Coup de Chienne company, the Sorties de Route festival is a summer gathering for live arts that takes over the village of Lauzès every summer, in the Causse du Quercy region of the Lot. Supported by a team of young artists and the municipality, this entirely free festival offers a multidisciplinary program mixing theater, dance, music, puppetry, circus, performance, storytelling, and street arts. The shows take place in the village's public spaces — school, village hall, gardens — creating a friendly and accessible atmosphere for everyone, with family or friends.
Since 2021, the Sorties de Route festival has transformed the small village of Lauzès into a place of artistic creation and sharing every summer. Born from the initiative of the Coup de Chienne company, founded by Léa Amélia Casagrande and a collective of thirteen artists and architects, this live arts festival has established itself as a must-see cultural event in the Lot department.
Nestled on the Causse du Quercy plateau, Lauzès offers an exceptional setting for live arts. The performances take place in the village's public spaces: the school, the village hall, the gardens, and the stone alleyways. This rural setting is at the heart of the artistic project: to promote local cultural heritage, engage with the inhabitants, and share sensitive and warm moments in an intimate atmosphere.
The festival features a wide variety of artistic forms: theater, dance, music, puppetry, circus, magic, storytelling, performances, and street arts. Each edition offers the opportunity to discover emerging companies and original creations, in a spirit of openness and curiosity. Discovery workshops, theater courses, and open mic sessions complement the program, inviting the public to actively participate in the artistic adventure.
True to its founding values, Sorties de Route is an entirely free festival, operating on the principle of free and conscious participation. This philosophy allows everyone, regardless of age or means, to fully enjoy the shows and activities. A refreshment stand and light catering are available on-site, fostering exchanges between artists, volunteers, and spectators in a festive and warm atmosphere.
The festival is driven by the Coup de Chienne association, created in November 2020 with the desire to take risks, seek adventure, and provoke joyful encounters. The company's name evokes an unexpected gust of wind, a sudden squall, much like life itself. This energy is reflected in every edition of the festival, which brings together artists, technicians, volunteers, and residents around a common project: to keep culture alive in rural areas and create events where everyone is welcome.
