Landes Émotions: The must-see show of the Landes

Landes Émotions is much more than just a show: it's a true immersion into the Landes soul, told through living tableaux with sound and light in the majestic setting of the Arènes Roland Portalier in Parentis-en-Born. Since its creation, this show has become one of the most popular summer events in the Landes department.

A Grandiose Show

For 2 hours, no fewer than 100 artists and 40 animals perform on the arena floor to offer a total spectacle that engages all the senses:

• Course landaise: The 'écarteurs' (bull dodgers) and 'sauteurs' (jumpers) demonstrate their agility and courage against the Landes cows, perpetuating the traditional taurine art of the Landes in all its nobility.
• Landes stilt walkers: The shepherds of the Landes de Gascogne move on their stilts, recalling the time when these wooden prostheses were essential for crossing the vast marshy expanses.
• Bandas: The traditional street bands make the stands vibrate with their brass and percussion, instilling a festive and communicative energy.
• Sound and light tableaux: Projections, light shows, and spectacular staging retrace the history and traditions of the Landes through moving and grandiose sequences.

An Authentic Story

The Landes Émotions show tells the story of the Landes through the centuries: the life of the shepherds on their stilts, village festivals, the 'course landaise', gastronomic traditions, the pine forest, and the ocean. Each tableau is designed to respect the authenticity of Landes culture while offering modern and spectacular staging accessible to all audiences.

A Passionate Team

Landes Émotions is driven by a team of 5 operational partners, including director and coordinator Aude Lapique, artistic director Nicolas Vergonzeanne, creator of the shows, and Frédéric Vergonzeanne in charge of partnerships. This structure collaborates with numerous local associations and artists to offer unique events that resonate far beyond the department's borders.

The Arènes Roland Portalier

The performances are held in the Arènes Roland Portalier in Parentis-en-Born, one of the most beautiful covered arenas in the Landes. This modern and accessible infrastructure allows the show to take place regardless of weather conditions, guaranteeing spectators a successful evening in all circumstances.
