The biggest agricultural festival in Indre, organized by Young Farmers
Terr'Agri is the flagship agricultural event of the Indre department, organised by the Jeunes Agriculteurs de l'Indre (JA 36). Every year, at the end of August, this large gathering celebrates agriculture, local produce, and rural life in a friendly and festive atmosphere. The event takes place on the Grange Dieu site in Levroux, offering a vast open-air space ideal for demonstrations and activities.
The Moiss'Batt'Cross is undoubtedly the highlight of Terr'Agri. This unique and spectacular event features combine harvesters launched into a frantic race on a specially designed circuit. These agricultural machines, usually dedicated to field work, transform into real racing cars to the delight of spectators. The roar of the engines, the dust raised by the machines, and the skill of the drivers create a spectacle as impressive as it is unforgettable, attracting enthusiasts from across the region.
The departmental ploughing competition is a highlight for young farmers from Indre, who compete in precision and expertise in this ancestral discipline. This competition, organised in partnership with the Chambre d'agriculture de l'Indre, showcases the technical skills of farmers and the beauty of the agricultural gesture.
Terr'Agri hosts a vast local produce market where local producers present the riches of Berrichonne agriculture: goat cheeses, green lentils from Berry, honey, meats and cold cuts, wines from the Reuilly and Valençay appellations, craft beers, and many other specialities. Tastings and culinary demonstrations allow visitors to discover the authentic flavours of Berry.
Exhibitions of modern and old agricultural machinery trace the evolution of agriculture, while conferences and debates address current issues in the rural world: sustainable agriculture, establishment of young farmers, short supply chains, and technological innovation.
Terr'Agri is a festival designed for all audiences. Children have a dedicated area with educational activities focused on the farm and nature. Inflatable structures, discovery workshops, and tractor rides complete the range of activities. In the evening, concerts and festive evenings extend the event in a friendly and warm atmosphere, bringing together farmers, families, and visitors around music and dance.
