Theater Festival in Val de Luynes

Since its creation, the Val de Luynes Theatre Festival has embodied a true cultural and human adventure, at the heart of the Touraine heritage.

Born in 2004 on the initiative of Monsieur Raffin, then mayor of Luynes and passionate about theatre and heritage, the festival is based on a strong ambition: to make great theatrical works dialogue with exceptional venues, by offering open-air performances in sites steeped in history.

Initially supported by the municipality of Luynes between 2004 and 2007, the festival evolved in 2008 to become an associative event. Since then, the festival has established itself as an unmissable summer event in the Loire Valley.

Today, it is organised under the aegis of the Val de Luynes Événements association. The festival is directed by Madame Sylvie Ravenel. Every July, private residences in the Touraine agglomeration exceptionally open their doors to the public. They offer a unique setting to discover – or rediscover – classical and contemporary works, interpreted by professional companies.

The Val de Luynes Theatre Festival is also an experience in itself: attending a performance at dusk, under a starry sky, then extending this moment during a friendly gathering around a drink of friendship, in the presence of the actors, the owners of the venues, and the volunteers.

More than 75 volunteers are passionately committed today to keeping the festival alive throughout the year: programming, communication, drafting of materials, logistical organisation, welcoming companies and spectators… all actions that contribute to the success and soul of this unique event.
