The gastronomic biennial of Limoges celebrating haute cuisine and porcelain
There is no edition scheduled in 2026 for this event. This page remains accessible to archive the history of the manifestation and will be updated if a new edition is announced.
Created in 2005 by the City of Limoges, the Toques et Porcelaine biennial was born from an idea as simple as it was brilliant: to combine container and content, exceptional porcelain and excellent gastronomy. Limoges, the world capital of porcelain since the 18th century, has thus imagined an event where the creations of porcelain makers meet the inventiveness of France's greatest chefs. Since 2017, the City has given a new dimension to this event, which now invests the entire historic center.
For three days, Place de la République, Place de la Motte, the Pavillon du Verdurier, the Halles Centrales, and the Musée national Adrien Dubouché are transformed into a vast open-air gastronomic trail. Chef chalets offer culinary creations served on Limoges porcelain, while giant vegetable gardens and ephemeral gardens adorn the city squares. The ceramic market brings together porcelain artisans and creators from all over France.
Each edition hosts a "brigade" of five national chefs who participate in free culinary demonstrations, participatory workshops, and together compose the menu for the gala dinner, the highlight of the biennial. The 2025 edition brought together Jeffrey Cagnes, Tabata and Ludovic Mey, Aurélien Véquaud, and Sébastien Vauxion, under the patronage of starred chef Jacques Chibois. Local Limoges chefs are also honored, particularly through demonstrations at the Halles Centrales.
Since the 2025 edition, local chefs' dishes have been served on real unbranded white porcelain plates, thus eliminating disposable tableware. New thematic chalets have appeared: a vegan chalet, a sweet chalet for dessert lovers, a bread-cheese-wine chalet, and a coffee-cocktail chalet. The Sunday musical brunch, DJ sets, and aperitif tours offered by the City of Art and History service complete a rich program accessible to all.
With nearly 50,000 visitors during the 2023 edition, Toques et Porcelaine has established itself as one of the major gastronomic events in the greater Southwest. Largely free, the festival appeals to families and discerning gourmets alike, contributing to Limoges' reputation as a land of excellence for fire arts and gastronomy.
