About Tech-Chestnut Fair
The Tech-Châtaigne fair brings together producers, processors, and researchers from the Limousin chestnut industry at the Lycée Professionnel Agricole de la Faye in Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche. Organized by the Chestnut Producers' Union in partnership with the Haute-Vienne Chamber of Agriculture and the school, this free event is open to both the general public and industry professionals. Highlights include an artisanal market, agricultural machinery demonstrations, technical conferences, and culinary showcases.
Tech-Chestnut Fair — edition 2026
The 7th edition of the Tech-Châtaigne fair takes place on September 18th and 19th, 2026, at the Lycée Professionnel Agricole de la Faye in Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche. Organized by the chestnut producers' union in partnership with the Haute-Vienne Chamber of Agriculture, the event is free and open to both the general public and industry professionals. The program features agricultural machinery demonstrations, an artisanal market, technical conferences on the chestnut industry, and a culinary demonstration by Michelin-starred chef Gilles Dudognon.

Friday, September 18th and Saturday, September 19th, 2026, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Continuous agricultural machinery demonstrations
- Artisanal market and producers' village, featuring a regional showroom and a stand hosted by students from the La Faye agricultural school
- Best chestnut cream competition
- Snacks, refreshments, and dining area
Technical Conferences
- Educational seminar: "Establishing and managing a chestnut production workshop in the Limousin region"
- National conference by Emmanuel Rabaud and Jean-Roland Lavergne on chestnut rot, the future of chestnut trees, and industry structuring (two-part session)
- Presentation of the European Chestnut Days
- Overview of the RESILIÂNCE project, post-harvest conservation, the GIEE Perf'Châtaignes initiative, the INVENIO/CHATOFOR project, and the MATCH project
Saturday, September 19th
- 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM — Lunch under the marquee, reservation required at 06 22 03 14 56 (Patrick Buisson)
- Culinary demonstration by Michelin-starred chef Gilles Dudognon

Getting there
The event is held at the Lycée Professionnel Agricole de la Faye, located at 28 route de la Faye, Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche (87500), approximately 40 km south of Limoges.
