Tours d'Horizons celebrates its 15th edition from May 28th to June 13th, 2026, featuring sixteen guest choreographers and twenty-six events spread across the Centre chorégraphique national de Tours and partner venues throughout the city. Michèle Murray will premiere BURNING THE DAYS, Salia Sanou blends Bach with the kora and balafon in De Fugues… en Suites…, Emmanuelle Vo-Dinh presents MIRARI, Daniel Larrieu brings Sacre to the Prieuré Saint-Cosme, and Silvia Gribaudi takes Suspended chorus to La Pléiade. The festival concludes on Saturday, June 13th, at the CCNT with Yohann Têté's LIP'n'DANCE and a set by DJ Moulinex.

Two weeks of contemporary dance in Tours

From Thursday, May 28th, to Saturday, June 13th, 2026, the Centre chorégraphique national de Tours hosts the 15th edition of Tours d'Horizons. With sixteen guest choreographers and twenty-six events, the program offers a journey through world premieres, recent repertoire pieces, site-specific performances, and participatory projects. The festival acts as a choreographic landscape where imagination meets reality: bodies become experimental grounds, transforming into landscapes, pictorial figures, or rhythmic machines.

A world premiere by Michèle Murray

CCNT associate artist Michèle Murray will premiere BURNING THE DAYS for three performers on Monday, June 1st, and Tuesday, June 2nd, at 7:00 PM at the CCNT. This is the only world premiere of the edition, serving as a pivotal moment in the first week, immediately following the opening weekend dedicated to outdoor performances.

Opening weekend: from studio to garden

The festival kicks off on Thursday, May 28th, and Friday, May 29th, at 8:00 PM at the CCNT with Vagabondages & conversations, a dialogue between choreographer Christian Ubl and landscape architect Gilles Clément. Christian Ubl continues the experience on Saturday, May 30th, at 11:00 AM with the Escales workshop. That same weekend, Cédric Cherdel invites the public to explore the parks and gardens of Tours with Ceci est le début d'une grande forêt, a choreographic walk held on Saturday, May 30th, and Sunday, May 31st, with multiple morning and afternoon time slots.

Major works at partner venues

Tours d'Horizons takes over venues across the city and metropolitan area. The Théâtre Olympia, a national drama center, hosts Les nouvelles hallucinations de Lucas Cranach l'Ancien by Nicole Mossoux and Patrick Bonté on Tuesday, June 2nd, at 9:00 PM, followed by Salia Sanou's De Fugues… en Suites… on Friday, June 5th, at 9:00 PM—a female sextet where Bach's suites meet the kora and balafon. The weekend of June 6th and 7th bridges two locations: Daniel Larrieu presents Sacre in the historic setting of the Prieuré Saint-Cosme, while Italian artist Silvia Gribaudi performs Suspended chorus at La Pléiade. Emmanuelle Vo-Dinh presents MIRARI at the CCNT on Thursday, June 4th, at 8:00 PM, a piece where bodies shed their humanity to become landscapes.

Amateurs, young performers, and emerging scenes

The second week focuses on transmission. On Monday, June 8th, and Tuesday, June 9th, the CCNT offers a double bill: at 7:00 PM, three amateur creations by Véronique Teindas, Yohann Têté, and Raphaël Cottin, performed by dancers aged 16 to 80; at 9:00 PM, young performers from the Formation Coline dance Some of Glass in Blue by Thomas Lebrun and Inked by Arno Schuitemaker. The following days highlight emerging artists: Mackenzy Bergile with Autothérapie on Thursday, June 11th, at 8:00 PM at the CCNT, Lumi Sow with Bounce on Friday, June 12th, at 7:00 PM at the Salle Thélème, and Johana Malédon that same evening at 9:00 PM at Le Petit Faucheux.

A closing dance party

On Saturday, June 13th, at 8:00 PM, the CCNT wraps up the edition with Yohann Têté's LIP'n'DANCE, a participatory dance evening built around lip-syncing, followed by a set from DJ Moulinex alongside the festival's guest artists. The audience is invited to dance in the very space where the festival began two weeks earlier.

The CCNT: the festival's home

Directed by Thomas Lebrun, the Centre chorégraphique national de Tours has hosted Tours d'Horizons since its inception. The festival is the highlight of its season, showcasing the work of its associate artist, the amateurs it supports year-round, and guest companies from France and abroad. Partnerships with the Théâtre Olympia, La Pléiade, Salle Thélème, Le Petit Faucheux, and the Prieuré Saint-Cosme allow the program to circulate throughout the entire metropolitan area.

The Tours d'Horizons festival stands out for the scale and diversity of its programming. Each edition brings together about twenty invited choreographers for thirty events: creations, revivals, performances, workshops, and artist encounters. The program encompasses all forms of contemporary dance, from intimate solos to large group pieces, from the most experimental creations to revisited repertoire works. This diversity allows the public to journey through the aesthetics and sensibilities that drive today's choreographic creation.
