About Trad'Azun, Traditional Music Festival

Every year in early September, Trad'Azun brings together traditional Occitan music, dance, and song in the Val d'Azun, held at the Arrens-Marsous village hall. Organized by the En cadence association, the festival features lively dances, workshops open to everyone (covering instruments like the boha, singing for dance, and traditional dances from Bigorre or Poitou), and a luthier's fair showcasing traditional Pyrenean instruments such as the boha, alboka, and caremère. The national raw-milk Tomme des Pyrénées cheese competition takes place at the same time, featuring traditional cauldron-making demonstrations, tastings, and the sale of farmhouse cheeses.
