Trail Glazig

The winter meeting point for Breton trail running

Created in 2005 at the initiative of Toussaint Corbel and Alain Le Tirant, enthusiasts of trails and nature running, the Trail Glazig has become in two decades one of the biggest trail races in Western France. Organized every first weekend of February by the association Plourhan Sport Aventure, it unfolds on the coast of Sud-Goëlo, between Plourhan, Binic-Étables-sur-Mer, Saint-Quay-Portrieux, and Plouha, in a landscape of steep cliffs, wild coves, and rugged paths.

An exceptional range of races

The Trail Glazig offers a unique range of events in Brittany:

• Super Trail (54 km): the flagship event, running along the wild coast of Goëlo.
• Défi Kinetik (74 km): an ultra-trail for the most seasoned runners.
• Défi du Goëlo (38 km) and Défi Super-U (48 km): demanding intermediate challenges.
• Trail Merrell (28 km) and Trail Iberdrola (15 km): accessible courses for experienced trail runners.
• Noz Trail (10 km and 20 km): night races on Friday evening.
• Trail 5K: a short format ideal for beginners.
• Kinder Trail: races for children.
• Hikes (16 km and 21 km): for walkers.

An event rooted in the territory

The Trail Glazig takes its name from the Glazig, a Breton term for a character in traditional costume from the Saint-Brieuc region. The event mobilizes 450 volunteers each year, including 250 course marshals, and generates significant economic benefits for the Goëlo territory. The routes cross varied landscapes: schist cliffs, beaches, hollow paths, undergrowth, and coastal villages, offering total immersion in maritime Brittany.
