Eco-festival of electronic music in Haguenau
Born in 2019 on the edge of the Nonnenhof pond in Haguenau, the Underground Mountain Festival is an eco-festival of electronic music that combines musical creativity and ecological commitment. For three days in mid-summer, DJ sets, live concerts, brunches, and DIY workshops follow one another in a preserved natural setting on the edge of the Haguenau forest. Certified level 3 in eco-responsibility, the festival explores an environmental theme each edition, such as the circular economy and material reuse.
Since 2019, the Underground Mountain Festival has carved out a unique niche in the Alsatian festival scene by combining electronic music and ecological commitment. Located on the edge of the Étang du Nonnenhof in Haguenau, bordering Europe's largest lowland forest, this festival offers a unique immersive experience where music dialogues with nature.
Over a full weekend, the Underground Mountain Festival unfolds a rich and varied electronic program: non-stop DJ sets, live concerts, ambient and experimental sets. The festival showcases local and emerging talents as well as established artists from the electronic scene. The morning musical brunches extend the experience in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Environmental commitment is at the heart of the Underground Mountain Festival's identity. Certified level 3 by Eco-Manifestations Alsace, the festival implements exemplary practices: waste management, carbon footprint reduction, and public awareness of ecology. Each edition explores an environmental theme — in 2025, the circular economy and material reuse — which is reflected in the workshops, stands, and site's scenography.
The Étang du Nonnenhof, located on the road to Schirrhein in Haguenau, offers a remarkable natural setting on the edge of the Haguenau forest. This body of water surrounded by greenery creates a peaceful atmosphere that contrasts with the energy of electronic music, offering festival-goers a total change of scenery just minutes from the city center.
Beyond music, the festival offers DIY workshops (Do It Yourself), eco-responsible glitter makeup, ecological prevention stands, and participatory activities that make each edition more than just a musical event: a true community and engaged experience.
The 7th edition of the Underground Mountain Festival is expected at the end of July 2026 at the Étang du Nonnenhof in Haguenau. The program will be announced in the spring of 2026.
