2026 Edition — Sunday, September 13th

The 3rd Ventoux Olive Oil Gourmet Festival will be held on Sunday, September 13th, 2026, from 10 am to 6 pm, across the entire village of Villes-sur-Auzon. Organized by the municipality as part of the Ventoux Saveurs Festival of the Mont-Ventoux Regional Natural Park, the event is curated in partnership with the Disciples d'Escoffier chefs. Admission is free.

The "Auzon consommer local !" Grand Market

From 10 am to 6 pm, the "Auzon consommer local !" farmers' and artisans' market will take over the village. This is the heart of the festival: a place for producers and consumers to meet in the true Provençal tradition. Artisans from the Ventoux Métiers d'Art network will also be showcasing their crafts.

Disciples d'Escoffier Chefs and the Mont-Ventoux Pig

The Disciples d'Escoffier chefs will host tastings and workshops throughout the day. The guest of honor for this 2026 edition is the Mont-Ventoux Pig, paired with the star of the show, olive oil—each year, the festival highlights a unique local product alongside olive oil.

Olive Oil, Lectures, and Music

An olive oil tasting workshop will help visitors learn to identify key aromatic profiles, and a lecture will be dedicated to "Olive trees in the Ventoux." The day's musical backdrop will be provided by Jean-François Gérold, co-founder of Le Condor, and his musicians, while local brotherhoods parade through the streets to the sound of the galoubet and tambourine.

For Children and Dining

Children's activities and games are free of charge: cooking workshops, the "Le Poney rouge" pony rides, "La Petite ferme" petting zoo, the "manège du Papé" carousel, and traditional wooden games. For dining, village restaurants will offer local menus, and locally-sourced food trucks will be available on-site.

Following the success of the first two editions, Frédéric Rouet, Mayor of Villes-sur-Auzon, promises "surprising new features" for 2026.

Ventoux Saveurs: When the "Giant of Provence" Terroir Sits Down to Eat

At the foot of Mont Ventoux, the limestone giant that dominates all of eastern Provence, the village of Villes-sur-Auzon is the ideal setting for a festival dedicated to authentic regional flavors. Ventoux Saveurs is a gourmet event that celebrates each autumn the excellent products from the Ventoux massif and Comtat Venaissin: olive oil, wines, fruits, vegetables, cheeses, honeys, truffles, and garrigue spices.

Villes-sur-Auzon, nestled between the Gorges de la Nesque and the southern slope of Ventoux, is at the heart of an exceptionally rich terroir. The centuries-old olive trees on the hillsides, the Ventoux AOC vineyards, the cherry, apricot, and lavender orchards, the herds of goats and sheep: all these resources nourish a generous and fragrant local gastronomy.

Olive Oil at the Heart of the Festival

Olive oil is the undisputed star of Ventoux Saveurs. An emblematic product of Provence, it has a unique expression on the foothills of Ventoux, thanks to local varieties—aglandau, saurine, picholine—grown in often centuries-old olive groves. Millers and olive growers from the region present their oils: intense green fruity notes with aromas of raw artichoke and fresh grass, softer and rounder black fruity notes, vintage oils, or blends.

Olive oil tasting workshops allow visitors to learn to distinguish the main aromatic families, assess the quality of an extra virgin oil, and pair it with Provençal dishes. Ventoux olive oil does not yet have a specific PDO (Protected Designation of Origin), but local producers are working to highlight the uniqueness of their terroir.

The Disciples d'Escoffier: Gastronomic Excellence Serving the Terroir

The presence of the Disciples d'Escoffier gives Ventoux Saveurs a leading gastronomic dimension. This international association, founded in 1954 to honor the memory of the great chef Auguste Escoffier (born in Villeneuve-Loubet, not far from here), brings together professionals passionate about the culinary arts and knowledge transmission.

For Ventoux Saveurs, the Disciples d'Escoffier organize culinary demonstrations showcasing the products of the Ventoux terroir. Chefs and pastry chefs creatively reinterpret traditional Provençal recipes, enhance olive oil in innovative preparations, and share their passion and techniques with the public. These demonstrations, open to all, are one of the highlights of the day.

Ventoux Wines: An Emerging Appellation

Ventoux Saveurs also celebrates the wines of the Ventoux AOC appellation, which extends over 51 communes around the massif and produces increasingly recognized reds, rosés, and whites. Winegrowers from the appellation present their vintages: smooth and fruity reds based on Grenache and Syrah, fresh and delightful rosés, aromatic whites based on Viognier and Roussanne. The altitude and the cool nights brought by the mountain give these wines a particular finesse and vivacity.

Guided food and wine pairings allow visitors to understand how Ventoux wines harmonize with Provençal cuisine and, of course, with local olive oil.

A Market of Exceptional Producers

Ventoux Saveurs is also a market of exceptional producers, bringing together artisans and farmers from the massif and its surroundings. Goat and sheep milk cheesemakers, lavender and garrigue honey producers, market gardeners using sustainable or organic farming, local preservers and processors: all testify to the vitality of local agriculture committed to quality and sustainability.

Visitors can taste, buy, and interact directly with producers in a friendly and authentic atmosphere. This is the very essence of such an event: recreating the direct link between those who produce and those who consume, respecting the seasons and the terroir.

Villes-sur-Auzon and Ventoux: An Exceptional Natural Setting

Villes-sur-Auzon is a picturesque village in the Vaucluse, perched at 300 meters altitude on the eastern flank of Mont Ventoux, at the entrance to the Gorges de la Nesque. The Giant of Provence, culminating at 1912 meters, is visible from everywhere and gives the landscape a striking grandeur. The Gorges de la Nesque, carved by the river in the Provençal limestone, offer spectacular hikes within reach of the village.

The Ventoux Saveurs event is part of the territorial development initiative supported by the Mont-Ventoux Regional Natural Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
