Vern'On Fire Festival: Vernon heats up for summer
The Vern'On Fire Festival is the major festive event in the city of Vernon, Eure. Hosted by the City of Vernon, it runs every July over four nights, bringing together around twenty artists with a simple promise: completely free concerts held in the city's most beautiful heritage and natural sites. Mayor François Ouzilleau aims to establish it as a major musical highlight in the western Paris region and Normandy, blending contemporary music with Vernon's rich heritage.
Three sites, four vibes
The festival utilizes three complementary venues. The Fonderie urban nature park hosts the most festive open-air nights: electro and techno on one side, urban music on the other, complete with a giant screen and sports activities. The Château de Bizy, an 18th-century residence known as the "little Norman Versailles," provides the backdrop for an immersive evening where music meets visual arts along an illuminated path. Finally, the Château des Tourelles, located on the banks of the Seine, serves as the setting for the closing night and its fireworks display.
Free concerts for everyone
Free admission is the festival's founding principle: every night is free. While limited-capacity events require advance booking via the online ticketing system, the closing night featuring the fireworks remains open to all. This format allows the festival to reach every audience, from electro fans to families coming for the pyrotechnics.
Vernon: between heritage and the banks of the Seine
Vernon, a city on the banks of the Seine just a stone's throw from Giverny and Claude Monet's gardens, offers an ideal setting for this summer festival. The city, rich in remarkable architectural heritage—the Château de Bizy, the Notre-Dame collegiate church, the Old Mill on the Seine—lights up with sound and color for these four nights. The festival boosts Vernon's tourism and reinforces its image as a dynamic, festive city.
A unifying event
The Vern'On Fire Festival brings together locals and visitors from across the region. The diverse programming—house, techno, rap, afrobeat, pop, and indie rock—appeals to all generations, with a significant spotlight on local and regional artists from the Vernon & Giverny scene. The closing fireworks by the Seine mark the true beginning of summer in Vernon.
