The Voix Vives de Méditerranée en Méditerranée festival returns to Sète from July 17 to 25, 2026 for nine days dedicated to living poetry. Each summer, the city of Sète welcomes over a hundred poets from all Mediterranean regions — Latin, African, Balkan, Eastern shores, and diasporas — to bring poetic expression to everyday places.
Surrounded by musicians, storytellers, actors, singers, and choreographers, the poets offer a multifaceted approach to poetry through more than 680 readings and performances spread throughout the historic district: squares, public and private gardens, streets, heritage sites, and even on the water. Access to all poetic encounters is free; only the shows at the Théâtre de la Mer are ticketed.

Sète's historic district opens up to welcome poetry in squares, public and private gardens, streets, and heritage sites. The heart of the festival beats in the Festival Village, located in the old town, around the Place du Livre where publishers and booksellers present works by invited poets and contemporary poetry, punctuated by readings and signing sessions. Evenings extend to the Théâtre de la Mer, which hosts the festival's ticketed performances.
The vast majority of events — poetic encounters in everyday places — are with free and open access. Only the performances scheduled at the Théâtre de la Mer are ticketed (single price, online ticketing via Weezevent). The full 2026 program will be announced soon on the official website.
