Vrai Repaire Festival

A festival born of passion in the heart of Quercy

The Vrai Repaire Festival was born in 2018 from the initiative of a group of friends passionate about music, united within the association Le Vrai Repaire. Their ambition: to promote and energize the cultural and musical offerings of the south of the Lot by providing a quality event, rooted in a rural and authentic territory. Located in the small village of Varaire, a community of 300 inhabitants situated on the Causse de Limogne between Cahors and Figeac, the festival has established a strong identity since its first edition.

A world music and contemporary music program

The Vrai Repaire Festival's programming is distinguished by its musical openness and eclecticism. Reggae, afrobeat, Latin music, French chanson, hip-hop, electro, and world sounds meet on the festival's two stages. Over the years, Vrai Repaire has hosted internationally and nationally renowned artists: Tiken Jah Fakoly, Amadou & Mariam, Deluxe, Flavia Coelho, Alborosie, Neg'Marrons, La Yegros, Guts, Manudigital, Féfé, Jahneration, Ladaniva, Moonlight Benjamin, and many others. Each edition brings together about a dozen groups and artists over two days of concerts.

A participatory and family spirit

Vrai Repaire cultivates a spirit of conviviality and sharing that makes it unique. The festival is designed as an intergenerational meeting place, accessible to families with free entry for children under 12 years old. On-site catering highlights the local cuisine of Quercy, and free camping allows festival-goers to extend the experience. The warm atmosphere of a small rural Lot village, the proximity to the artists, and the commitment of the volunteers contribute to creating a unique atmosphere, far from large, impersonal festivals.

Strong territorial roots

Supported by a small rural association with the backing of the Lalbenque-Limogne community of municipalities and the Occitanie Region, the Vrai Repaire Festival actively participates in the cultural dynamism of the Lot. Since its creation, the festival has experienced steady growth, increasing from 1,500 spectators at the first edition to nearly 2,500 festival-goers. In five editions, it has established itself as a flagship event of the Lot summer, contributing to the attractiveness of this preserved area of the Causse de Limogne, on the route of the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage.
