Art en Seille: A Festival of Art and Craftsmanship in the Heart of the Jura Bresse

Born from the initiative of the association Les Amis de la Dentelle du Pouy, the Art en Seille festival has quickly established itself as a major artistic event in Bletterans and the Jura Bresse. This festival highlights artists and artisans from the region and surrounding areas, offering them a unique exhibition and demonstration space in the town's halls and shops.

Over a Hundred High-Level Exhibitors

Each edition of Art en Seille brings together over a hundred high-level exhibitors, presenting a wide variety of artistic and artisanal disciplines:

• Painting and Sculpture: Original works by local and regional artists
• Art Crafts: Ceramics, woodworking, jewelry, textiles, glass, leather
• Bobbin Lace: Demonstrations by the association's lace makers on the world's largest lace-making frame, with meter-long bobbins
• Floral Art: Floral decorations created by a French florist champion
• Monumental Works: Large-scale creations presented by new exhibitors

Venetian Costumes and Parades

One of the main attractions of Art en Seille is the parade of couples in Venetian carnival costumes, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday in the streets of Bletterans. These sumptuous costumes add a spectacular and poetic dimension to the festival, creating living tableaux amidst the exhibitions.

A Festival Throughout the Town

Art en Seille is not confined to a single location: the festival takes over all the halls of the town of Bletterans as well as participating shops. This dispersion throughout the urban fabric invites visitors to an artistic stroll through the town's streets, discovering exhibitions, demonstrations, and activities in various and sometimes unexpected places as they wander.

La Dentelle du Pouy, a Living Heritage

The association Les Amis de la Dentelle du Pouy, at the origin of the festival, perpetuates the tradition of bobbin lace in the Jura. The Art en Seille festival is an opportunity to showcase this exceptional know-how and to raise public awareness about the preservation of this intangible heritage, while integrating it into a contemporary artistic dynamic.
