Bach Festival — edition 2026
11th edition of the Bach Festival Gers, from July 24 to August 8, 2026. A series of classical and baroque music concerts dedicated to Johann Sebastian Bach and the cello, held in the churches and heritage sites of the Astarac region (Mirande, Bassoues, Gimont, Biran). Two winter concerts (Christmas and New Year) complete the program in December.
Bach Festival Gers — 11th Edition (2026)
The 11th edition of the Bach Festival Gers takes place from July 24 to August 8, 2026, in the Gers department (Occitanie). True to its format, the festival offers a series of classical and baroque music concerts, focusing on the work of Johann Sebastian Bach and the cello repertoire, within the churches and heritage buildings of the Astarac region.
The festival is directed by organist and composer Irena Kosíková and features international artists, notably cellists Anna Brikciusová and František Brikcius (Duo Brikcius). Concerts are held in several towns in the department: Mirande, Bassoues, Gimont, Biran.
Two winter concerts extend the festival in December 2026: a Christmas concert in Mirande and a New Year's concert in Montesquiou.

Bach Festival Gers: Baroque Music in Gascony
The Bach Festival Gers is a festival dedicated to the music of Jean-Sébastien Bach and the great baroque and classical composers. Organized by the association Les Amis du Bach Festival Gers, based in Mirande, it offers a series of concerts every summer in the most remarkable heritage sites of the Gers.
Concerts in Exceptional Locations
The concerts take place in churches, castles, and abbeys of the Astarac region: Mirande, Bassoues, Château du Bartas, Château de Caumont, Montesquiou. The exceptional acoustics of these places enhance the performed works.
A Demanding Program
The program brings together high-level soloists and ensembles to perform the major works of the baroque and classical repertoire. Organ, cello, piano, chamber music: the festival explores all facets of the music of Bach and his contemporaries.
Christmas Concerts
The festival also offers Christmas concerts in December in the churches of the Gers, allowing you to celebrate the holidays with the sound of baroque music.
