The Beauvais Wine Fair: Gastronomy and Solidarity

Every March, the Maladrerie Saint-Lazare in Beauvais hosts the Gastronomy and Wine Fair, an event that combines the pleasure of tasting with exemplary charitable commitment. Organized by the Kiwanis of Beauvais, this fair has established itself over the years as an unmissable event for wine and gastronomy lovers in the Oise region.

40 Winemakers, 200 Wines

The fair brings together about forty passionate winemakers from the main French wine regions:

  • Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhône Valley: great growths and prestigious appellations
  • Loire, Alsace, Languedoc: terroir wines and regional grape varieties
  • Champagne: festive bubbles for special occasions
  • Spirits: cognacs, armagnacs, and artisanal liqueurs

In total, nearly 200 wines are offered for tasting, providing a comprehensive overview of French wine richness.

Local Products and Catering

Beyond wines, the fair highlights regional and local products: cheeses, cured meats, jams, honeys, chocolates, and other gastronomic specialties. A catering area allows visitors to eat on-site and extend the tasting experience in a friendly atmosphere.

The Maladrerie Saint-Lazare, a Heritage Gem

The Maladrerie Saint-Lazare is an exceptional medieval architectural complex, classified as a historic monument. This former 12th-century hospital, beautifully restored, offers a unique setting for the fair: the vaulted rooms, the cloister, and the gardens create an intimate and elegant atmosphere that enhances the art of tasting.

A Charity Event

The Beauvais Wine Fair is organized by the Kiwanis of Beauvais, an international service club dedicated to helping children. The profits from the event—from entrance fees and partnerships—are entirely donated to actions for the children of the Beauvaisis region: school support, food aid, leisure, and culture for disadvantaged youth.

An Accessible and Friendly Fair

With an entrance fee of only €2, the fair aims to be accessible to everyone. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm, with winemakers taking the time to explain their work and introduce their vintages. It's a meeting place for producers and enthusiasts, in a spirit of sharing and discovery.
