Ciné de Campagne is an open-air cinema festival created in 2022 in the community of communes Marche Occitane - Val d'Anglin (MOVA), in the south of the Indre department. Conceived by Michel Guilbert and Christophe Marlard, two residents of Lignac, and funded by the community of communes, this traveling festival brings cinema to life from village to village during summer evenings.
The principle is simple and unifying: each summer, six films are screened in six different communes within the territory. The screenings take place outdoors, in farmyards, village squares, or communal spaces. The common thread of the programming? All selected films are set in the countryside or deal with themes related to rural life: agriculture, village solidarity, rural heritage, nature, and terroir.
The festival is sponsored by Bernard Le Coq, a nationally renowned French actor, a native of Lignac in MOVA. His presence brings a prestigious dimension to this event rooted in its territory. Bernard Le Coq's sponsorship symbolizes the link between professional cinema and the cultural life of small rural communities.
Each screening evening is preceded by a time of friendly catering starting at 7 PM. Local associations, local producers, and food trucks offer Berry specialties and local products. This moment of sharing and conviviality is an integral part of the Ciné de Campagne experience, transforming each screening into a true village festival.
From one edition to the next, Ciné de Campagne gradually covers all seventeen communes of MOVA. Willing communes take turns hosting the screenings, allowing the festival to weave a cultural network throughout the territory. In case of bad weather, an indoor alternative is planned in each host commune, ensuring the smooth running of the screenings.
All sessions are free and open to all, making Ciné de Campagne a truly popular and accessible cultural event for everyone.
5th edition of Ciné de Campagne. Six free open-air screenings planned in the communes of MOVA in August 2026. Program and host communes to be confirmed.
