Claie de Sol: Music and Conviviality in Plumelec
Born from the desire of a few music and culture enthusiasts, the Claie de Sol Festival has been enlivening the town of Plumelec since 2023 with an eclectic and committed musical program. Driven by the Claie de Sol association, located at 17 rue du docteur Reme in Plumelec, this festival aims to revitalize the town and support the local economy by offering a quality cultural event accessible to the greatest number.
A Program Between Rock and Fest-Noz
The Claie de Sol Festival offers a program that combines French rock, contemporary music, and traditional Breton music. The evening is punctuated by a fest-noz, a convivial moment of Breton dance that anchors the festival in local culture. The 2026 edition will notably feature Cachemire, Toxic Frogs, Banbz, Kerlin, and Erual, offering a varied panorama of the contemporary music scene.
Claie en Scène: The Theatrical Component
In addition to the music festival, the Claie de Sol association organizes 'Claie en Scène', a component dedicated to theater and live performance. These theatrical performances, offered at other times of the year, enrich the cultural offerings of the town and broaden the audience reached by the association's activities.
An Eco-Responsible Festival
Eco-responsible commitment is at the heart of the Claie de Sol Festival's identity. The association prioritizes short supply chains for catering and drinks, limits the environmental impact of the event, and raises public awareness about ecological issues. This virtuous approach is part of a global desire to offer a festive and environmentally friendly event.
Plumelec, Land of Culture and Sport
The town of Plumelec, located in the heart of Morbihan between Vannes and Pontivy, is known to cycling enthusiasts for having hosted many Tour de France stage finishes. With the Claie de Sol Festival, it also asserts its cultural vocation and proves that small rural towns can be leading places for artistic creation and sharing.
