2026
About Comice du Pays de Tinchebray
The Comice du Pays de Tinchebray is a two-day agricultural and carnival festival that brings together the delegate communes of Tinchebray-Bocage and their neighbors in the Orne department. It is a rare event, held only every 8 to 10 years; the 2026 edition follows the one held in 2016. Saturday is dedicated to agriculture, while Sunday features the float parade.
Comice du Pays de Tinchebray — edition 2026
The Comice du Pays de Tinchebray returns on September 5th and 6th, 2026, ten years after the 2016 edition. Saturday is an agri-festive day from 10 am to 6 pm, featuring a cattle show, a farmers' market, and a country-style lunch. On Sunday, the Grande Cavalcade showcases 13 cinema-themed floats, followed by a night parade and a laser show with fireworks. Admission is free.
2026 Edition
The agricultural fair takes place in Tinchebray-Bocage on Saturday, September 5th, and Sunday, September 6th, 2026. Saturday is the agri-festive day, open from 10 am to 6 pm: exhibitions of farm machinery and animals, an agricultural competition from 11:30 am to 5 pm with 100 to 120 cattle, a petting zoo, a farmers' market, bouncy castles, and skill games. The Montsecret equestrian center will be present, and an equestrian vaulting show is scheduled. The country-style lunch is served at 12:30 pm by reservation, with 700 to 750 meals expected, along with a refreshment bar. The awards ceremony for farmers takes place at 6 pm.
Sunday is the parade day, from 2 pm to 11:30 pm. The Grande Cavalcade sets off at 2 pm with 13 floats built by local communes and neighborhoods on the theme of cinema, accompanied by 9 musical bands and 2 majorette groups. A night parade follows at 9 pm, then a laser show and fireworks at 11 pm at the fairgrounds.
Both days are free to attend. The number of participants varies by source: the commune of Tinchebray-Bocage announces nearly 1,000 participants, while the tourist office estimates around 800.

A rare event
The Comice du Pays de Tinchebray takes place every 8 to 10 years. The previous edition was held in 2016. The following one was originally scheduled for 2024, but the pandemic shifted the calendar, postponing it to the weekend of September 5th and 6th, 2026.
The event spans two days. Saturday is dedicated to agriculture, featuring livestock competitions, displays of agricultural machinery and equipment, and a country-style lunch. Sunday is the main celebration, featuring a float parade, equestrian acrobatics, and a closing show.
The floats
Each commune, either individually or in groups with their neighbors, along with every neighborhood in Tinchebray, builds its own float with the help of volunteers. The theme for 2026 is cinema, with each team choosing their own film. Leading up to the parade, the float associations organize their own selection events, such as dinners or parties, from November 2025 to May 2026. The main Ambassador selection event will be held on Saturday, June 27th, 2026, at the Colys'Haie, combined with a cabaret evening (reservation required). The title is open to young people aged 16 to 26 living in one of the communes of the Pays de Tinchebray.
