About Connect Skaturbanism Festival

Connect is an international festival dedicated to skateboard culture and its relationship with urban planning. Launched in Bordeaux in 2024 by professional skater Léo Valls, the City Skate Collective association, and the Côte Ouest agency, it brings together exhibitions, conferences, screenings, workshops, concerts, and skatable sculptures installed in public spaces every year. The streets, squares, and courtyards of Bordeaux become the setting for a dialogue between skateboarding, art, and urban design.

Connect Skaturbanism Festival — edition 2026

For its third edition, Connect sets up camp at Square Dom Bedos in Bordeaux from September 24th to 27th, 2026. Skater Léo Valls and artist Brice Fauquet will unveil a new series of skateable sculptures scattered throughout the city, accompanied by exhibitions, talks, and open skate sessions for everyone to enjoy.

A city-wide sculpture trail

For this year's edition, Léo Valls and Brice Fauquet have designed a new series of skateable sculptures, installed at iconic Bordeaux landmarks and connected by a rideable route. The chosen theme, connection, is expressed through messages of peace and dialogue embedded within the artworks.

Surrounding this trail, four days of exhibitions, conferences, screenings, workshops, and concerts will bring together international skateboarding figures, academics, and professionals from the worlds of urban planning and art.

Practical information

Practical information — Connect Skaturbanism Festival

The festival is held at Square Dom Bedos, Rue Jacques d'Welles, in Bordeaux. The first two editions, in 2024 and 2025, were hosted at Cour Mably in the city center.

A culture born in the streets

The festival builds on work initiated in 2017 by the Bordeaux skate community, which negotiated the use of public spaces for skateboarding with the City of Bordeaux, leading to the adoption of a municipal skate-urbanism guide in 2023. Connect brings this initiative to the public rather than keeping it exclusive to practitioners.

A shifting landscape

The inaugural edition took place in October 2024 at Cour Mably, with the second following in October 2025 at the same location. In 2026, the third edition moves to Square Dom Bedos. Each year, skatable sculptures designed by Léo Valls and other artists mark a trail through the city, accompanied by exhibitions, conferences, and open-access skate sessions.
