Cannes previews in the heart of Burgundy
Creusot-Croisette is a film festival that offers audiences in Le Creusot the privilege of discovering films selected at the Cannes Film Festival as previews. Organized by the cinema Le Morvan in partnership with the Cinémage association, this event offers a week of exceptional screenings every summer: four Cannes previews and the rediscovery of a historic Palme d'Or. A unique cinephile event in Saône-et-Loire.
Created in 2023, Creusot-Croisette is a film festival that brings a touch of the Croisette to the town of Le Creusot. The concept is as appealing as it is ambitious: to offer audiences in Burgundy the chance to see films selected at the Cannes Film Festival as previews, just a few weeks after their screening on the Croisette.
For five days, from Wednesday to Sunday, the festival will screen four preview films from the various Cannes selections — Official Selection, Un Certain Regard, Critics' Week, Directors' Fortnight. Each evening, a screening will be held in its original version with subtitles, allowing audiences to discover these works in the best possible conditions, sometimes accompanied by presentations or meetings with film professionals.
As a highlight of the festival, a special screening is dedicated to the rediscovery of a historic Palme d'Or, shown in its restored version. This heritage programming creates a fascinating dialogue between the cinema of yesterday and today, between acclaimed masterpieces and the films that will shape tomorrow's cinema.
Creusot-Croisette is the result of a partnership between the Le Morvan cinema in Le Creusot and the Cinémage association, which is committed to promoting art-house cinema and cultural dissemination in rural areas. This festival illustrates the desire to make the best of world cinema accessible in local cinemas, far from the major cities, thus contributing to the cultural influence of Le Creusot and its region.
The 4th edition of Creusot-Croisette will be held at the end of June 2026. Four preview screenings from the 2026 Cannes Film Festival selections will be shown, along with a heritage screening dedicated to a historic Palme d'Or.
