The great itinerant wine festival of Burgundy, every last weekend of January
The Saint-Vincent Tournante is the largest wine festival in Burgundy, celebrated every last weekend of January in a different wine village in the Côte-d'Or. Since 1938, this tradition has honored Saint Vincent, patron saint of winegrowers, through parades of brotherhoods, tastings of great Burgundy wines, and popular festivities. The event attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year to share the Burgundian conviviality.
The Saint-Vincent Tournante has been an institution in Burgundy since 1938. Every last weekend of January, when the vines are resting, a wine village in the Côte-d'Or hosts this celebration in honor of Saint Vincent, the patron saint of winegrowers. The principle of the "tournante" (turning) means that the host village changes every year, thus highlighting a different appellation of the Burgundy vineyard.
The weekend opens with a parade of wine brotherhoods in traditional costumes, accompanied by brass bands and music. A solemn mass is celebrated in the village church, followed by the induction of new knights of the Tastevin. The heart of the festival lies in the tasting cellars, where the winegrowers of the appellation offer their vintages to visitors equipped with the official Saint-Vincent glass. Street performances, musical entertainment, and gastronomic stands complete the festivities.
With attendance that can exceed 75,000 visitors over two days, the Saint-Vincent Tournante is the largest wine gathering in Burgundy. Host villages prepare for over a year to welcome this crowd, mobilizing hundreds of volunteers. The event is also an opportunity for the communes to showcase their architectural and wine heritage, with carefully chosen decorations on the theme selected for each edition.
In 2024, the villages of Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis hosted the 80th edition under the theme of Arts and Wine. In 2025, it was Ladoix-Serrigny that celebrated the 81st edition. In 2026, the festival will be held in the communes of the Maranges appellation (Cheilly-lès-Maranges, Dezize-lès-Maranges, and Sampigny-lès-Maranges) for the 82nd edition.
82nd edition of the Saint-Vincent Tournante in Maranges (Cheilly-lès-Maranges, Dezize-lès-Maranges, Sampigny-lès-Maranges). Celebration of the Maranges appellation, the southernmost of the Côte de Beaune.
The 82nd Saint-Vincent Tournante will be held on January 24 and 25, 2026, in the three communes of the Maranges appellation: Cheilly-lès-Maranges, Dezize-lès-Maranges, and Sampigny-lès-Maranges. This edition will highlight the southernmost appellation of the Côte de Beaune, with tastings of Maranges red and white, brotherhood parades, and entertainment in the streets of the three villages.
