The ecological transition festival in La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin
Organized every spring by the town of La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin, Déclic Écologique is a festival dedicated to raising awareness about the ecological transition. Since 2022, this free and family-friendly event offers a rich program combining scientific and creative workshops, conferences, shows, an educational farm, exhibitions, and eco-responsible stands at the Espace Béraire. With a festive and friendly atmosphere, the festival invites young and old to discover good practices for a daily life that is more respectful of the environment.
Since 2022, the town of La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin, on the outskirts of Orléans, has organized its Déclic Écologique festival every spring, an event entirely dedicated to raising awareness and promoting the ecological transition. Conceived as a festive and friendly occasion, this free festival welcomes families, the curious, and ecology enthusiasts at the Espace Béraire, the town's multi-purpose cultural center.
Each edition of Déclic Écologique offers an eclectic program accessible to all audiences. The festival is structured around several highlights: scientific and creative workshops (making insect hotels, sowing and repotting, creating from recycled materials), conferences led by associations like Loiret Nature Environnement, nature outings to discover spring flora and birds along the Loire, as well as film screenings with a message, such as Cyril Dion's "Animal".
The educational farm, present every Sunday, delights children who can interact with farm animals. Original shows like the "Déchet'circus" by the company Hors les rangs or the tale "Au coin d'la ruche" punctuate the program with humor and poetry, raising awareness among young audiences about waste sorting and pollinator protection.
Supported by the municipality of La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin and notably by Mayor Valérie Barthe Cheneau, Déclic Écologique is part of a global sustainable development approach for the town. The festival highlights local ecological actors: environmental associations, eco-responsible artisans, local producers, and citizen initiatives. Eco-responsible sales stands and food trucks offering local catering complete the offerings.
By its second edition in 2023, the festival attracted over 1,600 visitors over the weekend, confirming the growing interest of residents in the Orléans metropolitan area in environmental issues. Year after year, the program is enriched with more thematic conferences, new participatory workshops, and unprecedented shows, making Déclic Écologique an unmissable spring event in La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin.
With its free admission, warm atmosphere enlivened by fanfares, and activities suitable for all ages, Déclic Écologique embodies a joyful and positive approach to ecology, far from alarmist discourse, empowering everyone with the keys to a more sustainable lifestyle.
The 5th edition of Déclic Écologique takes place from April 27 to May 3, 2026, at the Espace Béraire. A full week with evening conferences and film-debates, and on Sunday, May 3: educational farm, fanfare, free show "Au coin d'la ruche" at 3 pm, workshops for all ages, eco-responsible stands, and food trucks.
For its 5th edition, Déclic Écologique takes on a new dimension by extending over a full week, from April 27 to May 3, 2026. During the week, conferences and a film-debate are offered in the evening at the Espace Béraire, providing moments for exchange and reflection on environmental issues.
