En Grangeons la Musique: Music at the Heart of Villages
Since 2006, the association En Grangeons la Musique has been working for the cultural development in rural areas between Sud-Bugey (Ain) and Nord-Isère. This unique artistic project transforms barns, village halls, and intimate venues in villages into live performance spaces, offering an eclectic and intergenerational musical program.
A Biennial Festival and a Traveling Season
After thirteen annual festival editions, the association has evolved its format to a biennial alternation:
- Even years: the En Grangeons la Musique festival, a summer highlight bringing together concerts and shows over several days
- Odd years: a traveling cultural season throughout the year, bringing shows to the rural communes of the territory
A Program for All Audiences
The richness of En Grangeons la Musique lies in the diversity of its programming. Each edition or season offers over twenty shows for all audiences:
- Comedic concert-shows mixing humor and music
- Classical music with ensembles such as the Quatuor Magenta
- Shows for young audiences suitable for children and families
- Guinguettes and festive moments of conviviality
- World music and brass bands like the Flying Orkestar
Strong Territorial Roots
The association upholds the values of cultural democratization in rural areas. By investing everyday places—barns, community halls, farmyards—the festival creates moments of sharing and meeting around music. Shows are also offered for schools, leisure centers, and retirement homes, strengthening intergenerational links.
A Recognized and Supported Project
En Grangeons la Musique benefits from the support of territorial collectivités and is part of the cultural landscape of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The festival contributes to the attractiveness and vitality of the rural territories of Nord-Isère and Sud-Bugey, proving that culture can flourish everywhere.
